Though this is a different type of forum, there are still some rules that apply.
General Rules:
- Respect not only staff but ALL members. This cannot be stressed enough, everyone has their own opinions and writing styles and none are bad or unacceptable.
- Abide by the rules of each different section (below rules).
- For the entire site, this site is PG-13 so please respect this.
Literature:
- Same rules from above general section apply to this section as well.
- Stories/Blogs: Word count of at least 100 for posts. This excludes all criticism/evaluations/comments on stories, blogs and such. Only the original blog entry/story/whatnot has to be the 100 words.
- Poetry and Lyrics: Just make sure they are longer than say 10 words and we're good. This is only to make sure that the poetry is something that other people will not criticize as critically (constructive criticism is good but not "it sucks" or something).
Criticism:
- On a similar point of the above rule, please be prepared to receive constructive criticism. This is a site to help budding writers and as such we should respect them. Only give the type of criticism you'd be okay with receiving and be aware there may be more sensitive writers out there.
RPs:
- Even though there are boards for Rp-ing, try not to make it your main source of posting on this site. The Rp boards are more for enjoyment after you've finished the hard work of writing a new chapter in your book for instance. But the respect rules apply in the Rp section as well.
- No Marry-sue's. No unauthorized character deaths. No god-modding either. Though this may seem like a harsh rule, it's necessary for everyone to be able to post as their character and have a good time. Another thing I should mention then would be that you don't want to take anything said personally for your character either. Just because one character doesn't like yours doesn't mean the person behind it hates you or anything.
- You can have more then one character per account but try not to overdue the characters. We want every character to be somewhat active (though emphasis mostly on the literature of the site) but not to die.
- You know the basics: as on almost any RP site, you can find pretty basic rules which apply here as well (such as double-posting, spamming, third-person only posts, keeping ratios of male/females even, character-approval before posting, two-thread max per character, no graphic mating, etc...). Though first-person posts are allowed in literature, try keep it third-person here please. If you need help, PM one of the staff/older members for help.
- The only exception to double posting would be in the Literature category. This is only so that people can post each new chapter in a new post. This makes it cleaner and if the story is long, avoids having to post half of one chapter in the original post and the other half in a new one. Stories/Blogs are the only boards with this exception though.
Graphics/Sigs:
- 400x200 pix max please on the sigs. This is just to ensure that the boards aren't stretched for those of us using slower computers.
- Advertising in sigs. You are allowed to advertise in sigs as long as they comply with the above rule and aren't offensive (pg-13).
Advertising:
- You can only advertise in sigs and the board located here. This keeps the site clean. If you think we will pay more attention the more you bump/spam us, it is quite the contrary. Instead we could end up temporarily banning and/or deleting the offending post(s).
C-Box:
- The respect rules apply here as well (even if you're a guest).
- NO spamming will be tolerated. If you're a member, you could end up with warning/temporary banning. If you're a guest, you could have your IP blocked. If we find repeat offenders, they will be dealt with.
